Ms. Herbst holds a Master’s degree in Holocaust Studies,
has taught at Gratz College and was a docent at the Illinois

Holocaust Museum and Education Center.

She will show and discuss the documentary film

“Ahead of Time, The Extraordinary Journey of Ruth Gruber”
a renowned photojournalist who witnessed some of the 20th century’s
most pivotal events including the journey of the Haganah ship Exodus

served as Rabbi for 26 years

Mr. Berger, sho spent 25 years in the U.S. Foreign Service in
Israel, the Netherlands, Brazil, Ethiopia, and Uganda, recently
retired after 16 years as a senior official at the U.S. Holocaust

Memorial Museum

His Topic is:

“Saving Lives During the Holocaust: Diplomats Who Cared”
Hear about some unsung heroes, foreign diplomats who, defying their
countries’ immigration laws, took a stand and granted life saving visas

during the Holcaust.
