Rabbi Rafael Adler and the Board of Directors of Temple Anshei Shalom in Delray Beach, Florida are pleased to announce the appointment of their new Hazzan, Cantor Kenneth Cohen. Cantor Cohen’s first service at Anshei Shalom will be the weekend of August 6th and 7th.
Originally from Long Island, New York; Cantor Cohen has conducted High Holy Day services and classes since 1999 for children and adults at United Synagogue congregations spanning from Honolulu, HI, to Great Neck, NY, to Tamarac, FL, and many other locations in-between.
Cantor Cohen states “I hope that I will find in Anshei Shalom a community where we may embody in our song, a spirit of joy and healing on Shabbat and through the seasons, and establish, with our worship, our study, and our deeds, a sacred solemn peace upon the congregation and community at large” Additionally, Cantor Cohen’s wish is that each person be empowered to offer their own voice in the collective recitation, even if they feel moved to join in on only a single syllable in a verse—which is a valuable beginning.
